India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump have held a series of bilateral issues as well as 5G technology at the ongoing G20 Summit 2019 in Osaka, Japan. In this bilateral dialogue, Modi talked about Chinese technology company Huawei for the 5G network security trial in India. The U.S. does not want Chinese company Huawei to enter any of its affiliates. The U.S. believes that sharing data with Chinese company Huawei could harm its security.

The U.S. last month banned Chinese smartphone giant Huawei from exchanging technology with any U.S. company. Google, the US company that built the Android operating system, has banned the security patch of its operating system Android for any newly launched Huawei device. However, the smartphones launched before Huawei and its subsidiary Honor will continue to receive a security patch of Android. Huawei reported this after the episode. Huawei has also talked about launching its own open source operating system. At the G20 Summit, the US President had earlier said that he would talk to PM Modi about Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei. "We supply many parts of the telecom equipment to Chinese company Huawei so we will talk with India about it," Trump said. The US is trying to prepare the ground for 5G technology in India. It also welcomes India's 'Make in India' idea.

India is also preparing to adopt this technology to the world as well. Prime Minister Modi further said that it is, therefore, more important how India and the US partner for 5G technology. Our strength is to create software for this technology and we wish to introduce this technology as 'Make in India'. U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed India's idea and said, "We have to see how Silicon Valley (the main base of American technology companies) works for it.
