GAIL (India) Limited is making significant strides to fuel India's energy goals. The team is currently working at an incredible height of 108 meters to install the tallest splitter column at the PDH/PP plant in Usar, Maharashtra. Once finished, this massive structure will reach an impressive height of 126 meters, greatly enhancing the efficiency of propylene distillation and improving product quality.

This engineering feat underscores GAIL's dedication to advancing India toward energy self-sufficiency. By optimizing processes, GAIL is not only boosting product quality but also contributing to a cleaner and greener energy future.

GAIL (India) Limited had signed a significant 15-year supply contract valued at over Rs. 63,000 crore. Under this agreement, GAIL will procure 600 KTPA of propane from BPCL's LPG import facility at Uran. This facility, currently capable of handling 1 MMTPA of LPG imports, is expanding to accommodate 3 MMTPA of propane and butane imports, it was previously reported.

The strategically located PDH-PP project in Usar, Maharashtra, will be India's first propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, expected to begin operations in 2025. The PDH unit will have a nameplate capacity of 500 KTPA, with propylene production seamlessly integrated into a polypropylene (PP) plant of the same capacity.
