Almora: After Garasain was made the summer capital of Uttarakhand, the politics has become hot. Congress and BJP have come face to face. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has criticized the decision to appoint Grasain as the summer capital. He has said that the nervous government has taken a decision in a tizzy. Prakash Joshi, former National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, also announced to make Garsain a permanent capital when the Congress government is formed.

Congress leader Prakash Joshi said that after the heat of Dehradun, the leaders will go for a picnic on the mountains on the pretext of summer capital and will come back to Dehradun when it gets cold. He has said that during the time of Congress, a strong foundation of Garsain was laid, in view of which the BJP has declared Grasain as the summer capital. If the Congress government comes in the coming 2022, Garrison will be declared as the permanent capital. Former PCC Chief Kishore Upadhyay has described the government's decision as having a British mentality.
