The Ambani family has once again welcomed the festive spirit with the arrival of Lord Ganesh at their renowned Mumbai residence, Antilia, ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2024. The family, known for their grand celebrations, followed their annual tradition with the utmost devotion and enthusiasm.
On the evening of September 6, 2024, the Ambanis were seen welcoming the idol of Lord Ganesh amidst chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” at their South Mumbai home. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, was seen holding one of his daughter Isha Ambani’s twins during the ceremony. Anant Ambani, along with his wife Radhika Merchant, also joined the welcoming rituals. The Ganesh idol is fondly referred to as "Antilia cha Raja."
In keeping with their tradition of generosity, Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation have reportedly gifted a gold crown worth ₹15 crore, weighing 20 kg, to the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh idol in Mumbai.
Adding to the festivities, it has been announced that the famous Lalbaugcha Raja will also be brought to Delhi for darshan during Ganesh Chaturthi. This has been a tradition since 2015, allowing devotees in Delhi to witness the revered idol. The pandal in Delhi, located at the DDA Ground in Burari, will have a wooden flooring and can accommodate up to 500,000 people.
Nita Ambani, Mukesh Ambani’s wife, extended her warm greetings for the festival during an event at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, where the family was present to mark the beginning of the celebrations.
As the ten-day Ganesh festival begins, around 15,000 police personnel will be deployed across Mumbai to ensure the safety and security of the city's residents and devotees. Senior officials will be overseeing the arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
