There has been a lot of upheaval in the internal politics of the Congress over the election to be held on June 19 for 3 seats of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sent some video and audio to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and senior leader Rahul Gandhi, along with evidence, in which it is told which leader is trying to topple the Gehlot government.

A senior leader of the state, on the condition of anonymity, told that Gehlot has sent documents to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi along with written statements of some MLAs, in which they were asked to be lured. This leader said that along with BJP, Gehlot has sent the names of Congress leaders to Delhi with all the necessary evidence. It was only after talking to Sonia Gandhi and other senior leaders that Gehlot submitted an inquiry into the efforts to buy MLAs for Rs 25–35 crore to the State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Special Operation Group (SOG).

Apart from the evidence sent by Gehlot, the high command suddenly made the state in-charge national general secretary Avinash Pandey, national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, national secretaries Vivek Bansal, Devendra Yadav, Qazi Nizamuddin, Tarun Kumar, ministers of Chhattisgarh government, TS Singhdeo, Deepender Hooda, Rajiv Satava and Manik Tagore were sent to Jaipur. On the request of Gehlot, Pandey, Surjewala, Singhdev and the four secretaries have been staying in Jaipur for the last one week only after their party MLAs have confirmed that they are in touch with the BJP. These leaders are meeting each MLA separately and trying to allay their displeasure. Ministers are also being heard. According to the sources, KC Venugopal, general secretary of the Congress, has done the task of clearing the anger of Khagh Minister Ramesh Meena from the CM. She is a candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections from the state, Neeraj Dangi is also in the fray with her.
