ISTANBUL: Visiting German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock praised the Black Sea grain export agreement that was just signed in Istanbul to deliver Ukrainian grain to international markets.
During her official visit to Turkey on Friday, the Foreign Minister declared the deal achieved on the shipment of grain from the Ukrainian ports to be a "great accomplishment." She lauded Ankara's efforts in the grain export negotiations, calling it "a beacon of hope for many people facing the fear of starvation," while speaking at a joint press conference with her Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu. The Turkish foreign minister emphasised that Ankara will "continue to do our share" and said that his country is certain that such an agreement will result in the halt of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
