Germany's magazine Der Spiegel has published a cartoon making fun of the fact that India has recently become the world's most populous country. The population of India has been shown to overtake China through cartoons. The Indian ministers got agitated over this. He called it racist.  
 
Indian train shown dilapidated: 2 trains are visible in the cartoon. On one side where a dilapidated old Indian train packed with people is shown, on top of it people are sitting with the Indian tricolor. At the same time, China's bullet train is visible on a different track, only 2 drivers are sitting in it. Through this cartoon, the technological progress of China has been shown, while India has been presented with crumbling infrastructure. According to the United Nations, the population of India has increased to 142.86 crores. While the population of China is 142.57 crores.

Economy will be bigger than Germany: Electronics and Information Technology Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has expressed anger that in the coming few years India's economy has grown much more than Germany. He tweeted that despite your attempts to mock Dear Cartoonist Der Spiegel, it is not smart to bet against India under PM Modi, in a few years India's economy will be bigger than Germany's.


Although some Indians have called this cartoon correct. He has said that it is true that lakhs of Indians go home during festivals, so some trains look like this cartoon.
 
Japan bowing down to China: Kanchan Gupta, Senior Advisor, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also condemned this cartoon. He has said that it is very racist. This portrayal of India by Der Spiegel bears no resemblance to reality. Its aim is to humiliate India and bow down to China. He further wrote that this is worse than the racist cartoons published in the media mocking India's successful Mars mission.
