New Delhi: G-23, a group of rebel Congress leaders, has been criticising the party's top command's attitude day in and day out while the party has been in upheaval. Ghulam Nabi Azad, a veteran Congress politician, has once again stated that the current generation of the party does not appear to be prepared to take ideas and views older leaders' counsel as a mutiny.

"When Rajiv Gandhi came to politics, Indira Gandhi called him and me and said that Azad could call him (Indira) 'No,' but that would not mean disrespect or no order, it would be for the good of the party," Ghulam Nabi Azad, a member of the G-23 group that advised reforms in the Congress, said in an interview. Azad, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, stated that no one is willing to listen now, which is why you are no longer relevant. Former Congress presidents Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are viewed as targets in Azad's speech.

Azad said that when your advice is not heeded, it hurts him and other veteran leaders. Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "We do not want any post in the party, but advise for the betterment of the party. We want the party to be strong and perform better.'
