Patna: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday called for a Uniform Civil Code. Referring to the steps taken by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to bring a Uniform Civil Code, the Minister said that it is a decision taken in the right direction. Now that Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a very good decision. There should be uniformity of law across the country, based on the recommendations a Uniform Civil Code can be introduced.

Earlier in February, Giriraj Singh had called for a Uniform Civil Code soon after the hijab controversy started and called it the need of the hour. Union Minister Giriraj Singh reiterated the allegations of persecution of Hindus in his constituency and expressed his displeasure over the recent protests by JDU. It is noteworthy that two former MLCs of JDU protested by burning an effigy of Union Minister Giriraj Singh at the DM office. JDU leaders allege that Union Minister Giriraj Singh intensified the Hindu-Muslim issue in Rajoda without any reason.

On burning his effigy by NDA members, Singh said that I will fight for the rights of Hindus at all costs. If the administration continues to work under the carpet under the pressure of vote bank politics, then where will the Hindus of my constituency go. He said that in the country, other parties including Congress do politics of appeasement. They consider a particular community as their vote bank and speak against Hindus to make them happy. I will not tolerate this.
