Meerut: The veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Union Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Giriraj Singh, who has endured the displeasure of the central leadership due to his controversial statements, today said that if Pandit Nehru lived longer, The situation of animal husbandry and fisheries in the country would have worsened.

Giriraj Singh, addressing the gathering after inaugurating the building of Meerut District Cooperative Bank on Sunday, said that Mr. Nehru was opposed to animal husbandry. He was accompanied by BJP MP from Meerut Rajendra Agarwal and the chairman of the District Cooperative Bank. He said that the current central government is promoting animal husbandry and fisheries so that the income of farmers increases. He said that everyone wants food, but no one wants to do agriculture. Farming is considered to be secondary, which is not right.

Giriraj Singh said that lakhs can be earned in a year by rearing four cows. There is a great demand for both cow dung and its urine. The Union Minister said that cow dung is sold at the rate of Rs 20 per kg. Income from milk is different. Giriraj Singh said without naming anyone that some people in the country want to break India. The people of the country have to be vigilant with them, so that the country can continue on the path of development.
