Patna: Union Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh has made a big statement on bird flu saying people should not spread rumors on the issue. He said bird flu has been in India since 2006. This disease can be treated with proper care. He said that if poultry products are eaten thoroughly and cooked, humans are not at risk of the disease.
Giriraj Singh said that bird flu cases have been found in 10 states including Delhi so far. He said his ministry had issued guidelines on bird flu fears in October itself. A control room is functioning in the Ministry of Animal Husbandry to monitor bird flu cases. The Union Minister said that the Secretary of the Ministry has written to the Chief Secretaries of all states to send guidelines for bird flu. The letter also says, "Don't create fear about bird flu."
Union Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh further said that he will write to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the way bird flu is being created in Delhi and says there is no need to be afraid of it.
