Patna: Union Minister and veteran BJP leader Giriraj Singh, who has always been embroiled in controversy over his statements, has hit out at the Congress party for terming the triple talaq bill as historic. He said the face of the Congress has become unwell. Rajiv Gandhi won an overwhelming majority in 1984 but succumbed to the rule of the Kathmullas.

Giriraj Singh further said that women were tortured. If the daughter of a Congress party leader had been treated like three divorces, she would go and ask.  Giriraj Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not brought the three divorce bills for votes but has fulfilled his promise to the countrymen against the atrocities against women. Giriraj Singh also lashed out at the Congress party over the Tipu Sultan Jayanti controversy.

Giriraj said that the irony of the Congress party is that it is for the vote to do everything. He said, "Who would consider Tipu Sultan to be a devotee of the country?" Whether it is the Mughal or Tipu Sultan or the British, everybody has robbed our country. Tipu Sultan did not fight to protect India. Rather, they fought not to rob the Angrez their property. Tipu was also aggressor and lutera.  Giriraj Singh said tipu was not Maharana Pratap or Shivaji Maharaj.
