Srinagar: Triple Talaq bills have also been passed in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. After the passage of the bill, a fierce battle broke out on Twitter between PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah. Omar Abdullah accuses PDP of supporting NDA. However, the controversy began with a tweet from former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti.
As soon as the Triple Talaq bill was passed, Mehbooba Mufti wrote in a tweet, "I fail to understand the need to pass three divorce bills because the Supreme Court had already declared it illegal. Responding to Mehbooba Mufti, Abdullah said, "Mehbooba Mufti, you should check how your members voted for the bill before this tweet. I think he helped the government by staying nonexistent in the House because he needed a number in the House to pass the bill."
After Omar's tantrum, Mehbooba Mufti also made a sharp backlash. In a tweet, Mufti said, "Umar Saheb, I suggest you stop teaching a high moral lesson because it was your own party which expelled Soz Saheb from the party to vote against the BJP in 1999." He replied, "Madam if you can defend the PDP's deceit by remembering the 20-year-old incident, of course? So you are admitting that you had instructed your MPs to be absent from the House and this non-existence helped the BJP this time."
