Chandigarh: There has been an uproar when a video of girls of the Chandigarh University of Punjab taking a bath went viral. On this matter, the students of the university protested a lot on Saturday night. The protesting students have alleged loss of lives and injuries to the people related to the incident. At the same time, Mohali SSP Vivek Sheel Soni has denied the claim of any death in this case. SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said, 'Last evening a case came to light that a girl had made a video. Later rumours spread that more videos have been made. For this, some students demonstrated here. An FIR has been written in the matter. The criminals have been caught. No one has died here.'
The Mohali SSP has also denied the claim of attempted suicide. The medical records of the students have been obtained. According to medical records, no one has attempted suicide. Forensic evidence is being collected. People should not pay heed to rumours. SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said, 'Now we are investigating the matter in detail. We are getting forensic examinations of whatever information and videos we have. In the investigation we have done so far, it is clear that the video which is there is her own, apart from that there is no video of anyone else.'
Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has appealed to the students of Chandigarh University to remain calm and assured them that criminals will not be spared. At the same time, the statement of Punjab State Commission for Women Chairperson Manisha Gulati has also come on this matter. Gulati said, 'This is a serious matter, it is very sad. The matter is being investigated. I am here to assure the parents of all the students that the culprit will not be let off.'
