In a horrific crime, the body of the 10-year-old missing girl was found among the bushes in Kotdwar area of Poudi district. The girl is said to have been raped and murdered in the case. Police have arrested two youths in connection with the case. The family had lodged a case of the girl's disappearance at a nearby Police station on Monday. Police have sent the body of the girl for post mortem.
According to reports, the body of the girl, who has been missing for the past four days, was found among the bushes on Wednesday, sparking panic in the area and people in the area expressed their displeasure and demanded early arrest of the accused. On the other hand, police have checked the CCTV footage on the information of the incident and arrested two accused in the case from Gadghat today.
A police official Manoj Raturi said that "after drinking the alleged liquor, the girl was lured to the nearby railway premises and raper her" while admitting it in questioning. The accused in the case said that "they smothered the girl, causing her death." Kotdwar police booked the two accused under sections 302, 201, 364, 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.
