Mumbai: The leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will have to pay a fine of one thousand rupees to Rahul Gandhi. This order has been given by a court in Bhiwandi, Thane. The Court of Judicial Magistrate has imposed this fine on Sangh leader Rajesh Kunte. The court had earlier imposed a fine of Rs 500 on Kunte, which too he has not paid till now, its mention also came in the court.

The court will now hear the matter on May 10. The magistrate said that on the next date the complainant will have to come up with evidence. At present, the complainant will have to pay Rs 1,000 to the offender (Rahul Gandhi). Rahul Gandhi's advocate Narayan Iyer said that the court has fixed May 10 as the next date of hearing when the complainant will be questioned. Kunte had filed an application for quashing the case, which was dismissed by the court and imposed a fine of one thousand rupees on him. The petitioner's counsel had said that his writ petition against the magistrate's order was pending in the Bombay High Court, so the matter has been sought to be quashed.

In fact, Kunte had told the court that he wanted to produce a witness in the case but for some reason, the court did not allow it. Then, against this order of the magistrate's court, Kunte had filed a petition in the high court. In the latest hearing, the complainant had sought orders of a policeman of Nizampur police station in Bhiwandi to appear before the court. He had said that he had filed a report related to Rahul Gandhi's statement. But Rahul Gandhi's advocate N.V. Iyer opposed it. Thereafter, Magistrate J V Paliwal said that the testimony of the proposed witness would be correct only after all the points of the complainant were heard first.
