New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given an important decision on the pathetic condition of Hindus living in the national capital Delhi from Pakistan. The High Court has ordered Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, which supplies electricity to Delhi, to provide electricity connections to displaced Hindus within 30 days.

A bench of Justices Satish Chandra Sharma and Subramonium Prasad said their Aadhaar card or long-term visa is sufficient to stay there. On this basis, they can apply for an electricity connection. Earlier, the company had sought land ownership documents from these Hindus. These Hindus who migrated from Pakistan are currently living on the land of the Ministry of Defense. In such a situation, the central government had also issued no objection certificates (NOC) to these Hindus for electricity. However, the company kept dilly-dallying in giving electricity connections.

To this, the court said that when the concerned authority has given permission to provide electricity, the company has no other option but to provide electricity connection to the people of that area. At the same time, the petitioner's lawyer has argued that everyone is ready to install electricity meters so that the company does not suffer any kind of loss.
