2 Congress "Runaway" Lawmakers Take Flight From Goa, Land In BJP

In a major setback for the grand old party two Goa Congress lawmakers Dayanand Sopte and Subhash Shirodkar resigned from the party after meeting Bhartiya Janta Party chief Amit Shah in the national capital Delhi.

Two Goa Congress lawmakers after metting with  BJP national president Amit Shah declared that they are switching and joining oposition sides as the PM Modi led ruling party tries to hold its alliance together in the small seaside state while current Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has a pancreatic ailment.

Dayanand Sopte and Subhash Shirodkar meeting with Amit Shah had remained very secretive in spite of loud guesswork about their party barter. On a related note they both left for Delhi late on Monday night.

"We are joining BJP today. We expect two-three more legislators to come, not today but in the coming days," Subhash Shirodkar was quoted as asserting to the leading news agency ANI after his  hush –hush talks with the BJP president.

Last night, veteran Congress leader A Chellakumar told the news agency PTI that he had talked about to both the legislators and they assured him that they were not swapping the party but this morning everything changed radically.
