Panaji: After the shortage of beef in Goa, the state CM Dr Pramod Sawant said that the administration will find a solution to this problem in two days. He said that a study is being done on the cow slaughter bill of Karnataka. Beef shops in Goa have been closed for the past few days. In Karnataka, the bill passed to stop cow slaughter has also affected Goa. The supply of beef is not being completed here. Recently some beef traders had also expressed their displeasure over beef supply from Karnataka to Goa.

Recently the anti-citation bill has been passed in Karnataka. In this bill, buffalo is also defined as cattail. According to the bill, if anyone kills a cow, bull or buffalo under 13 years of age or smuggles their meat, they can be imprisoned for seven years and pay a fine ranging from fifty thousand to five lakh. If found doing this for the second time, the amount of fine can be from one lakh to one million.

It has been said in this bill that in such cases only Sub-Inspector rank officers or equivalent officers will go to the spot and investigate. The items found during the investigation will be presented to the SDM.
