New Delhi: Union Minister Shripad Naik on Monday succumbed to a road accident near Karnataka. His wife and a colleague have died in the accident. While Shripad has been admitted to a hospital in Goa in an injured state. According to the information, he is still in stable condition and is out of danger.

According to Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Shripad Naik is still out of danger and is in stable condition. He has to have two short surgeries. Given the situation now, he need not shift to Delhi. On the last day, PM Narendra Modi had also spoken to Goa CM Pramod Sawant in this regard and asked the Union Minister to arrange for better treatment. On Tuesday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is also arriving in Goa to learn the health of Shripad Naik.

In a tweet, Rajnath Singh said, "I will visit Goa today to seek information on the health and ongoing treatment of Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik. In this hour of distress and sorrow, God should give strength to his family". Shripad Naik is the Minister of State for Defence in the Central Government and also takes over the Ministry of AYUSH.
