PANAJI: Pramod Sawant, the chief minister of Goa, announced on Thursday that the state will soon introduce night bus services for tourists and those working for the third shift.

The minister was  was addressing during the launch of 20 new electrical buses in the fleet of state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).

In the state, there is no bus service after 8 o'clock. We are prepared to accept losses, but the bus transit service must begin at night. It is accessible in additional states. Once we launch this service, locals and visitors visiting Goa will be able to take buses at night. Even those who start working third shift will benefit from it, said the minsiter.

He said that this will happen once the private buses come on board with the government. "The process of boarding private buses took longer than expected. However, we will approve them at the following cabinet meeting, and they will then join," he said.

To make this service available, we require  support from Kadamba and also private buses. We all can give the best services to the people. We shouldn't skimp on the transport network while striving to make Goa a model state. The passengers' security and safety will also be taken into account. We are addressing these issues. We must keep cordial ties with everyone involved if we want the tourism sector to expand, Sawant remarked.

He claimed that in order to lower carbon emissions, green energy would be made available. "Those looking to buy a two- or four-wheeler should go for an electronic vehicle. Electric charging facilities ought to be installed at petrol stations. Sawant stated, "We will provide this service at government locations. To connect villagers with cities and industrial areas, the transport infrastructure will undergo significant adjustments. Numerous individuals labour in all three shifts at the big four industrial complexes in Goa.

Currently, the state has about 1460 private buses, and Kadamba Corporation owns about 600 of them, including electricity buses.
