The situation in Goa has worsened amid the growing corona infection in the country. A new record has been set here in terms of positivity rate. In fact, the positivity rate in the state has been filed between April 21 and May 4 at 4.1 per cent. There are reportedly about 13 States in the country where the average positivity rate of corona infection in 14 days is more than 21 per cent. This high rate of infection in all these states also points to the increase in testing. Let me tell you that there was only one State which crossed the positivity rate of 7 per cent as compared to March.

This was the time when the second wave was first suspected. After this, many states imposed new restrictions to control the second wave. According to a website report, the positivity rate has increased sharply due to lack of testing tracing and treatment of fortnightly positivity rate.

Now, in Delhi, the positivity rate has increased from 19 per cent in the last fortnight (April 8 to 21) to 32 per cent this fortnight (April 21 to May 4). In fact, apart from Goa and Delhi, West Bengal is also the third worst affected State in terms of positivity. It recorded a positive rate of 30 per cent between April 21 and May 4. So far, 9 States have recorded a positivity rate of 10 to 20 per cent.
