New Delhi:- Godrej Aerospace is in talks to manufacture aircraft parts for Airbus and Boeing suppliers, a company executive told Reuters. This comes amid growing expectations that an industry defection is imminent as airlines continue to order record aircraft. Such a high volume of orders means that at some point he will need to service 2,000 to 2,500 engines, he added. It is worth noting here that India is promoting both local manufacturing and domestic procurement of aerospace and defense components. A number of companies, including Airbus and Boeing, have also recently committed to 'Make in India'.

“With so many aircraft coming to India, Airbus and Boeing will have to expand their supply chains. Airbus and Boeing's second-tier suppliers are now looking to India and are in negotiations with them,” said Behramkamdin. Contracts for the supply of aircraft structures offer many opportunities, he said. Demand for titanium will also be very high, he added, and there will also be a need for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft parts.
Godrej Aerospace already exports some key components to engine makers General Electric and Rolls-Royce, the company said. The company expects its commercial aviation business to have a turnover of Rs 100 billion for the current financial year. This will account for 35% of Godrej's total turnover, Behramkamdin said. He added that he expects sales to increase by 50% next year.

Godrej Aerospace will also manufacture modules for the GE 414 engine, aiming to become part of the supply chain for a flagship product that will power India's next-generation fighter jet, Reuters reported.
The engine will be jointly manufactured by GE and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) under an agreement signed during Prime Minister Modi's US visit last month.

A separate statement from Godrej Aerospace said the company will invest Rs 250 crore to build a new facility with advanced manufacturing, assembly, and integration facilities in Khalapur, Maharashtra. rice field.
Godrej Aerospace is now in talks with Boeing regarding manufacturing of the Airplane parts and will soon sign the contract regarding that.
