New Delhi: Gold and silver prices saw a spurt on Thursday. On Thursday, gold rose by Rs 80 to Rs 40,350 per ten grams in the Delhi Sarfa market due to the strengthening of both precious metals abroad and local jewelry subscription. Silver also gained Rs 200 to Rs 47,650 per kg.

At the international level, the gold spot rose by $ 2.98 to $ 1,519.80 an ounce as the dollar shone. At the same time, February gold futures also fell by $ 0.70 to $ 1,522.40 an ounce. Market analysts have said that the dollar's softening in the basket of other major currencies of the world has strengthened gold. Silverspot also rose by $ 0.02 to $ 17.85 an ounce in the international market.

Coin buying and selling remained unchanged at Rs 930 and Rs 940 per unit, respectively.
