New Delhi: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a new announcement. Nitin Gadkari has said that the government is working towards bringing a single logistics law for all modes of goods transport. Addressing a function, Gadkari said that the government is trying to bring in a Logistics Act to bring in procedural uniformity and ease among all modes of transport. "Doing so will prevent duplication of procedures," he said. Gadkari said this while attending the 12th Annual General Meeting of the 12th DACAAI.

Nitin Gadkari said, "One law for all logistics channels will facilitate truly multi-level transport." He said that at present the logistics cost in the country is around 14 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but the government intends to bring it down to 8 per cent. Gadkari said that public and private participation should be encouraged to promote air transport in the country.

Along with this, Nitin Gadkari said that the share of air cargo in the domestic aviation market is very less. He said, "The biggest advantage of air cargo is time. We have ample scope for its expansion. Aviation infrastructure should be developed using new technology. If we can move more volume, then the cost of air cargo will also be there.'' At the same time, recently Nitin Gadkari has said that before the year 2024, 26 green expressways will be ready in the country and India will be at par with America in terms of roads. Along with this, Gadkari said that in the coming days, emphasis will also be laid on the use of technology for collecting toll tax.
