After the decision of the Supreme Court of India, the way has been opened for the recruitment of pending promotions in all the departments of Uttarakhand and vacancies related to the vacancies related to a reservation in promotion. Let us tell you that promotions were stopped in various departments of Uttarakhand from May last year. Lower posts were to be vacant after promotion in most departments, which were to be recruited. The number of such vacancies is believed to be around 20 thousand. The government departments which have vacancies include a total of 40 departments including Revenue, Education, Health, Police, Transport, Forest, Forest Corporation, Irrigation, Food-Supply, Excise, Industry and Ayush.

On this matter, Additional Secretary of Uttarakhand Personnel Department, Suman Singh Waldia said that the DPC process will be started soon after the decision of the court. The details of the posts that will be vacant will also be taken from the departments. In September last year, Uttarakhand government had postponed the DPC meetings in all the departments of the state and banned promotion procedures.

For your information, let us tell you that the basis for this was the lawsuits going on in the High Court and the Supreme Court regarding the issue of reservation in promotion. Actually, most of the posts of the lower class in various departments of the state are of direct recruitment. Half the high positions are also filled through direct recruitment and half promotion. When the Uttarakhand government counted such vacancies in the year 2018, then 26 thousand vacancies were revealed.
