Search giant Google in India is soon going to shut down its 16-year-old service. The name of this service is 'Google Bookmarks' which will be discontinued by all users on September 30, 2021. A banner running on the Google Bookmarks page says that google bookmarks will not be supported after 30th September 2021. So the company is speaking to users to export bookmarks. Also, users can save their data by going to google.com/bookmarks and clicking on 'Export Bookmarks.'
Even though bookmarks may not be a very popular service, some of the features in Google Maps may be affected since its closure, which is still present in Google Bookmarks. Both these apps were synced but closing Google Bookmarks means that the user's 'Starred' location will also be deleted. However, things are yet to be fully clear about it. According to 9to5Google, one way for users is to switch the list that Maps saved these places to sync with just the 'Starred' list bookmark.
The same Google Maps gives users an opportunity to add their preferred place to a list that can be viewed later. For this, you can open Google Maps and search by clicking or setting up business, place or lettuce, and longitude and then save your list. Only users can search for saved places.
