New Delhi: If after installing the most recent iOS 16.3.1 update you have been having problems with the Google Photos app, you are not alone. The Verge reports that a number of users have complained that the app crashes right away after opening, making it difficult to access the photo library.

Thankfully, other Google applications like Gmail, Drive, and Maps seem to be operating normally.

Software updates are occasionally released and are greatly valued, especially when they include bug fixes and new features. Sadly, as is the case with the most recent iOS update, sometimes these updates can also lead to issues.

Prior to this, the iOS 16 update also had some issues. Google is currently working to make its app more user-friendly.

Some users claim that Google Photos crashes as soon as it is launched, but other users claim that they were able to complete the login process. Nevertheless, the app crashed without displaying any error messages as soon as they gained access to the photo library.

Although it seems like the problem is widespread, you can still access your Google Photos account online.

It is currently unknown what malfunctioned. The problem might be caused by the most recent iOS update or it might be an issue with how the app accesses photos. A few security updates and bug fixes are included in the iOS 16.3.1 firmware update. Additionally, it contains improvements for the iPhone 14 series' "Crash Detection" feature.

Google is aware of the problem and is attempting to fix it. Google is "in the process of rolling out a fix in version 6.23.1 of the Google Photos app," according to spokesperson Michael Marconi.

Here's how to stop your iPhone from receiving automatic updates. Choose "General" under "Settings" on the menu. Go to the "Automatic Updates" section by clicking "Software Update" first. The option to "Install iOS updates" can now be disabled. To avoid bugs and to improve your smartphone's security, it is advised to always update to the most recent software.
