Google is testing a new shortcut to quickly access incognito mode in its search app, allowing users to quickly switch to private browsing. This feature has been spotted in the beta version of the Google app on Android smartphones, which also includes the option to hide labels from the bottom banner.

This update comes at a time when Google has been reported to be considering discontinuing continuous scrolling search results on mobile and desktop platforms. The new incognito mode shortcut has been seen in the Google app's Android 15.26.34.29.arm64 version, which displays an incognito tab.

This latest beta version is available for download for testers who have opted for the Google Play Developer Program. With this new shortcut, tapping on the search box will display a new "Chrome Incognito" option above the keyboard, allowing users to quickly switch to incognito mode.

The current solution requires users to tap on the profile picture in the top right corner and then select the incognito tab from the account menu. This new shortcut will make it easier for users to access incognito mode.

New Look for Home Tab

The update also brings a new look to the home tab of the Google app. The labels that were previously visible, such as Home, Search, and Saved, are now hidden, and only the icons are visible. This gives the interface a cleaner look.

Circle to Search Feature

Google is also adding a new feature called "Circle to Search" to its app, which is a visual lookup feature powered by artificial intelligence (AI). This feature has been spotted in the beta version of the Google app and allows users to scan any QR code or barcode that appears on their screen. Overall, these updates aim to enhance the user experience and provide easier access to privacy features and AI-powered tools.
