New Delhi:- Electronic signatures have become a stake for companies engaged in document storage and management. So it's no surprise that Google today announced the open beta of a new email signature feature in Google Workspace. The new feature will be available exclusively for Google Docs and Google Drive for individual accounts and different groups.

New feature, in limited alpha so far, aimed at individual entrepreneurs and small businesses to easily collect and track digital signatures directly in documents without printing, signing, scanning and sending email-email for signature.

"To help streamline this workflow, we're integrating eSignature into Google Docs, allowing you to request and add signatures to formal contracts, directly within Google Docs," the company wrote in a statement. blog post announcing the new feature. Box introduced a similar feature with Box Sign in 2021. Dropbox acquired HelloSign in 2019 but did not integrate the feature like Box and Google. Alan Pelz-Sharpe, founder and principal analyst at Deep Analysis, who has studied the document management space for years, sees the move as Google just catching up with the market and offering the service.
