The document, dated February 8, emphasizes, "Please don't enter confidential information in your conversations or any data you wouldn't want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve our products, services, and machine-learning technologies."

For those concerned about privacy, Google offers an option to disable Gemini Apps Activity, allowing users to manage their conversations or delete them from their activity history at myactivity.google.com/product/gemini.

Despite this, Google retains Gemini conversations for up to 72 hours to assist in maintaining and enhancing Gemini Apps, even if users opt out of activity tracking.

So, why does Google store Gemini data? The tech giant gathers conversations, location details, feedback, and usage data to improve its products and machine-learning technologies. When Gemini is configured as a mobile assistant, additional information is collected to better understand and respond to user queries.
