Bhopal: Former CM of Madhya Pradesh and veteran BJP leader Uma Bharti is demanding to make the liquor policy more stringent in the state. Under this, she stayed in a temple in Bhopal for 4 days. After four days, on Tuesday, she left the temple. Before leaving, she demanded to make the liquor policy very strict in Madhya Pradesh and demanded to convert 'Madhushala into Gaushala'.

He said that increasing crimes against women in the state should be directly linked to the consumption of alcohol. Uma Bharti began her four-day stay at a temple near a liquor shop in Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal, which ended on January 31. Uma is waiting for the new liquor policy of the Madhya Pradesh government to come out. Earlier on Saturday, Uma Bharti had told reporters that if the 'controlled liquor policy' is implemented, the ruling BJP would repeat its record victory like in 2003.

Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are to be held in December this year. Uma Bharti is demanding a proper amendment in the Liquor Policy, which the state government issues every year, to include more controls to promote de-addiction. Uma had earlier opposed the liquor shop located near the temple. The Madhya Pradesh government has not announced any date, but a new liquor policy is usually announced at the end of January.
