Government has geared up for immersion of Ganesh idol in Hussain Sagar: Animal Husbandry Minister

Hyderabad : Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that with the coordination of all the departments, all the preparations for Ganesh idol immersion have been completed. It may be noted that the High Court had on September 9, 2021, banned the immersion of idols in Hussain Sagar Lake and refused to modify its orders in the review. Hearing a petition filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday, the court has allowed only one year for immersion of Ganesh idols made of plaster of Paris in Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said the state government will have to comply with the orders of the High Court to build small ponds throughout the city for such immersion in future. After this order, GHMC completed the preparations for the immersion. Minister Talasani said, "The government has geared up for Ganesh idol immersion." He further said that Khairatabad Ganesh immersion crane no. 5 and assured to complete the immersion process at the earliest. Talasani also said that all those who participate in the immersion procession will be given masks.

He said around 40,000 idols would be immersed tomorrow. Talasani said 40 cranes along with four additional cranes have been made available to immerse the idols. Life jackets, boats were also arranged with 40 expert swimmers
