Indore: A major accident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Indore city late on Friday night. A fire broke out in a three-storey building in the Vijay Nagar police station area. The fire was so dangerous that seven people were burnt alive while 8 people were seriously charred to death. All the injured persons have been admitted to MY Hospital. At present, no clear information has been received about the cause of the fire.

 

Indore Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra confirmed the death of seven people. Fire department officials said the fire was probably caused by a short circuit. It took about 3 hours to get the fire under control. Collector Manish Singh also reached MY Hospital and enquired about the movement of the injured. The collector said that the reasons for the incident will be investigated. The families of the deceased will be given Rs 4 lakh each. The injured persons will also be compensated under the section of the RBC. At the same time, Manish Singh has said that he will conduct an inquiry into the illegal construction in Swarnabagh Colony.

 

State CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has condoled the incident. He wrote on Twitter that the tragic news of the untimely demise of many precious lives in the accident caused by a short circuit in Swarnabagh Colony in Indore. The news of the death in the accident is very heartbreaking. I pray to God to give the departed souls a place in their sticharions and the strength of the family to bear this deep sorrow and to make the injured well soon. I have ordered an inquiry into it. Whoever is negligent, strict action will be taken against him. The next of kin of the deceased will be given Rs 4 lakh each. At the same time, state home and Indore in-charge minister Narottam Mishra have expressed grief over the incident.
