The state government is now going to fix the maximum court fees in cases of filing defamation cases in the state, in which if someone files a claim of one crore rupees, then they do not deposit five percent i.e. five lakh rupees as court fees. Have to get it done. That is, you will have to pay a court fee of more than 25 thousand rupees. Along with the Chief Minister's budget announcement, the Law and Legal Affairs Department has prepared the draft changes in the Rajasthan Court Fees and Duties Act. On which the officials of the Law Department are working, it is being speculated that this will be got done in the budget session. That is, the amended law can be implemented immediately.

Keeping in mind the increasing cases of defamation, the provision of this punishment will be made. So that in the current law if defamation is proved, there is a provision of simple imprisonment for up to two years and fine under Section 500 of the Indian Penal Code. This is a bailable offense. The magistrate is given cognizance for criminal cases to be filed by ordinary libel.
