New Delhi: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has given a big relief to the people by removing the ban of just 50 guests in the wedding ceremony on Saturday. In a late-night order issued by Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, the DDMA has allowed 200 persons and closed spaces for weddings in the banquet hall keeping in view the number of guests.

However, the ban on number of guests for the funeral will continue to be 20. DDMA on Saturday also released a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for weddings and other demanding functions in the city. In closed spaces, up to 200 people would be allowed to fill up to a large 50%. The order states that the number of guests allowed in open spaces or grounds will be determined by the area district magistrate and the DCP.

The order implied that if one is planning a large wedding with more than 200 persons, then it would be a better option to choose an open space as there is no specific limit on the number of people mentioned in the document. The order states that it will be mandatory to install face masks, maintain social distance, system of thermal scanning, and use of hand washes or sanitizers.
