NEW DELHI: The Government is expected table The Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022' in the Rajya Sabha today, July 19, amid possibilities of the opposition parties continuing to demand a discussion on GST rate increase, Agnipath scheme and other issues.

On Monday, chaos reigned in the Upper House due to a protest by the opposition calling for debates on a number of issues, including the Agneepath plan and the increase in the GST rate, among others.
Members of the opposition submitted notices asking for the business to be suspended, but they were denied. The House was adjourned for the day by Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu, who was presiding over his final session as chairman.

The government is set to put the weapons of mass destruction law on the table for discussion and approval, according to list business.

Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Union Minister for External Affairs, will make the motion to study and adopt the Bill to alter the current Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005.

The report of the department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports on "Review of education standards, accreditation process, research, examination reforms, and academic environment in Deemed/Private Universities/other Higher Education Institutions" is most likely to be delivered by Bhubaneshwar Kalita and M. Thambidurai.
Union ministers Pankaj Chaudhary , Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar and Dr Bhagwat Karad will put  papers on the table.
