New Delhi: Central employees and pensioners are likely to get a big relief on Dearness Allowance soon. Officials from the National Council of JCM and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure), representing central employees, are scheduled to hold a meeting in this regard on June 26 on DA increase and DA arrears.
Earlier, the meeting, scheduled for May, had to be cancelled due to rising corona cases. The main agenda of the proposed meeting will be to brainstorm on payment of DA dues (7th CPC DA) to employees under the 7th Pay Commission and benefits (7th CPC DR) DR the 7th Pay Commission of retired Central Government employees. The National Council of JCM has informed that the meeting will be chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India.
State that the DA is pending with three instalments (1.1.2020, 1.7.2020 and 1.1.2021). The meeting is being held to find a solution to by when the instalments of three pending DA will be paid. The Centre had announced in March this year that the DA and DR of central government employees and pensioners would be restored from July 1, 2021 with a new rate.
