New Delhi: The central government has set its sights on extending the reach of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) worldwide, aiming to assist both developing and developed nations in streamlining their infrastructure planning through an integrated digital platform.
Insiders familiar with the plan revealed that the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is poised to be initially offered to neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This move intends to facilitate the planning and execution of specific cross-border infrastructure projects. Subsequently, a separate iteration of the product will be tailored for international ventures, utilizing the established framework from domestic projects.
The aforementioned officials indicated that countries interested in adopting this system might receive limited access to the PM Gati Shakti portal. This access will enable them to observe the progression of projects from the conceptual stage to their execution.
"We are actively presenting the Gati Shakti Master Plan to various countries. In neighboring nations, we conducted high-level visits to Nepal and showcased the master plan in Bangladesh at their government's request. Additionally, we introduced the tool to 30 countries across Central Asia and Southeast Asia," mentioned Sumita Dawra, the Special Secretary of DPIIT. Dawra further SAID that the tool gained exposure at several significant global platforms, including the recently concluded UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UNESCAP) conference in Hong Kong, the Asia Pacific Business Forum, and the most recent G20 meeting held in Delhi.
"The tool has garnered substantial interest, not only from governmental entities but also from private companies seeking streamlined clearance processes. These companies are urging their respective governments to adopt such geospatial technologies to expedite project timelines," the senior official added.
