India made a great start at the Asian Wrestling Championships on Tuesday when three of the five Greco Roman wrestlers, including Sunil Kumar, claimed bronze medals. This is the second time Sunil Kumar has come on the podium at the Asian Championships. The former had won in 87 weight classes in 2020.

The 23-year-old won by technical superiority after taking a 5-0 lead in his bronze medal bout against Mongolia's Batbayar Lutabyar. Sunil had taken over Uzbekistan's Jalgasbe Berdimuratov in the semi-finals.

At the same time, in the 55 weight class, Arjun Halakurki has also defeated Dawabandi Munkh Erdi 10-7 in the bronze playoffs. Arjun has also won a bronze in the 2020 competition. In the 63rd weight class, Neeraj defeated Islomzon Bakhramov of Uzbekistan 7-4 to finish the podium. However, in the 77-weight category, Sajan Bhanwal has lost to Japan's Kodai Sakurab, while Prem Kumar has missed out on a bronze medal in the 130 weight class after losing to Iran's Amir Mohammadali.
