SURAT: Comparing Gujarat's election promises from AAP leader and Delhi Chairman Minister Arvind Kejriwal to "chinese products," state BJP chief C R Patil on Friday urged voters not to believe them since they will eventually have to pay for it.

"Since last few days, a person is visiting Gujarat and promising to give free electricity, 10 lakh jobs, but don't get influenced by such promises, as it is just like Chinese products, if you get influenced with his free promises then do remember your experience with Chinese products where you had been cheated," Patil said in a speech to textile traders and industrialists after opening an exhibition here. Kejriwal is promised free electricity up to 600 units, but the BJP leader questioned how the power plants would function without money.

Under the BJP government, according to Patil, Gujarat is creating the most jobs nationwide.
To demonstrate the BJP's exemplary governance, Patil cited the Surat Municipal Corporation, which supplies water to bungalows for just Rs 407 annually, or about Rs 1.10 per bungalow every day. There just cannot be a better level of service, he insisted.

He brought up the Maharashtra government's promise of  Rs. 1 power fee for any investment in the Navapur area, adjoining to Gujarat border. Many businessmen and investors invested in land and machinery, but their units never received power, despite this guarantee.

"Don't forget such experience before getting impressed by such promises," Patil warned.
