In Gujarat, a major fire broke out in the covid care ward set up at Patel Welfare Hospital in Bharuch city on Friday night. The flames had rushed to the ICU ward of the hospital. Rescue operations were carried out in hurry in view of the massive fire. Several hospital patients were also hit by the fire. Several fire tenders rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the fire. In which 20 people have lost their lives. Both patients and staff were present. The State Government has announced an assistance of Rs.4 lakh to the families of each of the victims. PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the incident.

It has been reported that the incident took place around 12.30 pm on Friday night at Patel Welfare Hospital in Bharuch city. Patel Welfare at Bharuch a fire broke out suddenly in the covid ward of the hospital. According to reports, the fire broke out from a short circuit. Some people say that there was an ICU ward at the spot where the fire broke out. The fire spread rapidly. Due to this, there was very little time to evacuate the patients. By the time the patients were evacuated, a large number of patients were engulfed in flames.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot after reports of a fire at the Covid Care Centre. All police officers also rushed to the spot. Work was started to rescue those trapped in the hospital. Giving this information, Zubair Patel, Trustee, Covid Care Centre, Bharuch said that this is an unfortunate incident not only for us but for the entire Bharuch. With the help of police and people, we are transferring patients to other hospitals. Patients and staff nurses have lost their lives in the incident.
