Surat: A case of shame to humanity has come to light from Surat city of Gujarat. Here, a housemaid hit the eight-month-old child so brutally that he had to be admitted to the hospital. This act of the maid was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the house. On Saturday, police gave information in this regard.

Police said that the woman had brutally beaten the child. The woman has been detained on charges of attempting to murder the child. Inspector PL Chaudhary of Rander police station informed that the child has suffered a brain haemorrhage and is currently undergoing treatment. He said that a couple has twins in Surat city. Both husband and wife go to work because of the job. So they hired a woman to look after the children.

ACP (G-Division) ZR Desai said, "'When we came to know about the assault on the child. When we examined the CCTV footage of the house, it was seen that the woman was beating the child laying in her lap. Sometimes slamming him on the bed. The woman did this for an hour and a half. The woman has now been detained and a case has been registered against her. He said the accused woman has just been taken into custody. But as soon as the covid-19 report of the woman comes, she will be formally arrested.
