Amreli: A major road accident has taken place in the Amreli district of Gujarat this morning. Nine people were run over by a speeding truck while sleeping in the hut, killing 8 people while 3 others are said to be seriously injured. The incident took place in the Badda village of Savarkundla in Amreli. An 8-year-old innocent girl was among those killed. As soon as the accident took place in the morning, there was an outcry. After which it was immediately reported to the nearby police station.

Relief and rescue operations were launched at the spot and the injured were rushed to the nearby Savarkundla Civil Hospital where the condition of two is stated to be critical. The incident took place around 3 am today. According to reports, the driver lost control of the truck, which led to such a terrible accident. A team of 108 rushed the injured to the hospital. CM Vijay Rupani has expressed grief over the accident and announced financial compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.

CM Rupani tweeted, "Saddened by the tragic incident near Badda village of Savarkundla in Amreli district. All instructions have been issued to the administration to provide immediate and proper assistance to the victims of the accident. The state government will provide assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each victim of the accident. The collector of Amreli has been directed to immediately investigate the entire incident and send a report. I pray to God to give peace to the souls of the dead and give the family the strength to bear this suffering. Om Shanti...''
