New Delhi: The Gujarat government has given a big relief to students in view of the corona epidemic. After the CBSE and ICSE boards, the Gujarat Board has also cancelled the 12th examination. The Gujarat government on Wednesday issued an order cancelling the 12th examination. Earlier, the Gujarat Cabinet met to arrive at a consensus on cancelling the examination.

The Cabinet meeting also discussed that in view of the second wave of corona, the situation is still not such that children's health can be risked. Earlier yesterday, while deciding to cancel the CBSE board exams, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also said that 'The health of students is our first priority'.

However, yesterday, on Tuesday, the Gujarat Board of Secondary Education (GSEB) announced that the class 10th and 12th board examinations are starting from 1st July, 2021. The Gujarat Board had released the full time table for these examinations. A new time table was also issued on the board's website gseb.org, but the cabinet meeting was convened again today following the government's decision on the CBSE board.
