Gandhi Nagar: Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has decided to rename dragon fruit as 'Kamalam'. CM Vijay Rupani said that the state government has decided to rename the dragon fruit. Now this fruit will be known as Kamalam. This is because these fruits look like a lotus from outside.

At the same time, Vijay Rupani said that the word 'dragon' is not good to hear and people see it linked to China. Therefore, it has been decided to rename it. Kamalam in Sanskrit means Lotus. Let's say that dragon fruit has recently been popular very fast. Talking to the media on Tuesday during the launch of the Chief Minister's Horticulture Development mission, CM Rupani said that we have petitioned the patent of dragon fruit to be called Kamalam, but the Government of Gujarat has decided that from now on we will know this fruit in the name of Kamalam.

CM Rupani further said that even though this fruit is known as dragon fruit, it is not proper to hear. Kamalam is a Sanskrit word and the fruit size is like a lotus, so it is named Kamalam. However, there is nothing political in it.
