SC stays Gujarat HC order mandating community service for those not wearing masks

Ahmedabad: In the past, the Gujarat High Court had said in its order, "Those who do not apply masks should be served in the covid Center." Now the Supreme Court has stayed the order of Gujarat High Court after a day. Recently, the Supreme Court has ordered the state government to "ensure the guidelines of masks and social distancing at covid centers".

The Supreme Court is of the view that 'the High Court order is not fit to follow'. People can get corona infected by this. ' Along with this, the Supreme Court has also expressed concern that, 'People are going to malls and wedding parties without wearing masks. It is necessary to strictly apply wearing masks. '

The Gujarat High Court on Wednesday had issued an order which said that those not wearing masks in the state will have to serve 5-6 hours at the Corona Center. At the same time it was also said that the days of this service can be from 5 to 15. These days will be decided keeping in view the age and medical history of those without masks. The state government was also asked to issue notifications in this regard. So far 2.12 lakh cases of corona have been reported in Gujarat. Of these, 1.94 lakh patients have been cured, 4018 infected have died and 14 thousand 713 patients are undergoing treatment. Every day about one and a half thousand new cases are coming here. The maximum number of 3000 active cases are in Ahmedabad.
