Ahmadabad: The Gujarat government has declared a half-day for all government offices and educational institutes on January 22, aligning with the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The official order specifies the half-day until 2:30 pm on the mentioned day. Other states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Puducherry, and Chandigarh have also declared time off for government employees to witness the event on TV or participate in local religious activities.

Security measures have been intensified at Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad Railway Station ahead of the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya and Republic Day. State police, accompanied by a dog squad, conducted security checks at the railway station to ensure safety.

The first image of the new idol of Ram Lalla was released, unveiling a 51-inch black stone statue sourced from Karnataka. The statue, adorned with a garland of roses and eyes covered with a yellow cloth, was carved by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru. Placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the consecration ceremony is scheduled for January 22. Rituals at the Ayodhya temple commenced at 8:30 am and continued until 3:30 pm on Friday. The consecration ceremony is set to start at 12:20 pm and conclude by 1 pm on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a gathering of over 7,000 people at the venue, with a large audience expected to watch the event live on television.
