Ahmedabad: Surat police in Gujarat have arrested gangster Sajid Ghulam Mohammed alias Sajju Kothari from a secret bunker inside his house. The Crime Branch of Surat City Police has nabbed the notorious criminal Sajju Kothari from his bunker at Jamrukh Gali in the Nanpura area of Surat. More than 40 police officers were involved in the operation to arrest Kothari. A case has been registered twice against Sajid under the GUJCOCA (The Gujarat Control of Organised Crime Act)  Act.

It is to be noted that the house in which Sajju was hiding was a ground plus five-storey building which was locked from outside. There were steel spikes on its walls. When the police team reached the first floor by putting up a ladder, they broke the windowpane and entered inside. After repeatedly scanning the entire building more than five times, the police team knocked on the furniture wall. When different voices were heard, it was understood that there was a hollow partition within.

When the police insisted, they saw the way to a secret bunker behind the showcase. Sajju Kothari was arrested from the same bunker. Sajju was running a gang which was involved in kidnapping, extortion loot and many other crimes.
