At present, there is a lockdown in the entire country due to Coronavirus. No one can tell how long the situation will be normal. In such a situation, filmmakers are starting to release their films directly on the OTT platform. Yes, but the owners of cinemas are very angry with this move of the producers. Let us tell you that after the announcement of the release of Shoojit Sircar's film 'Gulabo Sitabho' on OTT, multiplex INOX had expressed displeasure by releasing a press note to which producer and director Kunal Kohli has responded.

Kunal Kohli, who has directed films like Hum Tum, Fanaa, Teri Meri Kahani, recently befriended me, wrote in a tweet replying to Inox that, 'Let inox release what % of their revenue is ticket sales vs F&B.F&B is based on ticket sales, no one goes to a theatre to eat,Right? Start sharing that revenue with producers as well, before accusing them for trying to survive in a world pandemic never witnessed before by mankind."

Let us tell you that Inox had released a letter expressing his displeasure over the digital release before Gulabo-Sitabo theater and wrote a lot during it. In fact it was written in it, 'Inox has been investing its money in making world class theater for the last several years. Its purpose is only that good cinema reaches the people. In this difficult time, it is very sad that one of our partners is not fulfilling this relationship that has been going on for the last several years. That too when we need to stand shoulder to shoulder. This is happening for the first time in itself. This is breaking our partnership. We and the content producer have been partners for a long time. We want to reiterate that this will shock the revenue. We request all content creators not to abandon the old theater system and release films on digital platforms. Also take care of the interests of all those present in the value chain.

At the same time, on the displeasure of the owners of theaters, the Guild has said that, "It is very unfortunate for them that they are getting angry messages from their colleagues." With this, the Guild counted the drawbacks of theaters. The owners have told that this is a time when the producers of stalled films and the producers of completed films bear a loss of crores of rupees per day. Do not have to. Due to the lockdown, do not know when the shooting of the films will start again? With this, a press note issued by the Guild further said, "The rent of the studio hired for the films and the set made are being paid by the producers without any work." In such times, even insurance companies are not ready to support. Even their cancellation charge is becoming very expensive. Each state government is free to take its decision to reopen theaters but they will be able to give relief only when the coronavirus is controlled. Filmmakers will have to wait for any Hindi film to be released all over India. Looking at the current situation, there is no way to remove the lockdown.
